Terms
Last updated 28 October 2026
RAWdemption is a free app made by one person. These terms are short on purpose. By installing or using RAWdemption, you agree to them.
Using it
You can use RAWdemption for free, on as many of your Macs as you like, for anything: hobby photos, client work, whatever you shoot. Your photos and everything you make with them are yours. Please don't sell RAWdemption, bundle it with other things, or share changed copies of it. To share it, send people to this website.
No warranty
RAWdemption is a beta, and it is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It may have bugs, and it may crash.
RAWdemption never changes your original photo files: your edits are saved beside them in hidden .lightbox folders. When you choose to delete a photo, the original goes to the macOS Trash. Still, keep backups of photos that matter to you. Don't rely on any single app, including this one, as the only place your photos are kept.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any damage or loss that comes from using RAWdemption or not being able to use it, including lost photos, edits or data. Where the law doesn't allow this to be excluded entirely, it applies as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law says can't be limited.
Updates
RAWdemption checks this website for new versions and offers to install them. Updates may change, add or remove features. You can turn off automatic checks in RAWdemption › Settings, as the privacy page explains.
Supporting on Patreon
Supporting RAWdemption on Patreon is optional. Patreon handles payments, cancellations and refunds under its own terms. As a thank-you, supporters get their full profile page and every Thing in the sidebar while their support is active. Editing and exporting are free for everyone, with or without support.
Privacy
What RAWdemption sends, and what it never does, is on the privacy page.
Other people's work
RAWdemption develops RAW files with Apple's own RAW engine in macOS, and installs updates with Sparkle, which is open source under the MIT licence. Sparkle's licence and copyright notices are included with the app, in RAWdemption › About RAWdemption.
Changes
If these terms change, this page changes first, with a new date. Questions: hello@rawdemption.com.
